Machinist Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at CP. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to determine machining operations and plan the best sequence of operations.
- Set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, and precision grinding.
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to the supervisor.
- Complete and maintain inspection reports.
Requirements
- An Inter-Provincial Red Seal in the trade of Machinist is required.
- Strong problem-solving and computer skills.
- Ability to work within strict established safety and work guidelines/rules to complete the job.
- Will be required to obtain all CPKC certification pertaining to specific tasks and assignments.
- Ability to work on various shifts and days off, including weekends and holidays.
