Machinist - Precision Metal Fabrication Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at CPKC. As a Machinist, you will play a critical role in the precision cutting, milling, turning, boring, drilling, or grinding of metal and similar materials into parts or products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and plan the best sequence of operations.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools, including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools, to perform precision machining operations.
  • Verify the dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Report any deviations from specifications and tolerances to the supervisor.
  • Complete and maintain inspection reports.

Requirements:

  • An Inter-Provincial Red Seal in the trade of Machinist is required.
  • Strong problem-solving and computer skills.
  • Ability to work within strict established safety and work guidelines/rules to complete the job.
  • Will be required to obtain all CPKC certification pertaining to specific tasks and assignments.
  • Ability to work on various shifts and days off, as CPKC operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
