Dean of Mathematics Opportunity

The University of Waterloo invites applications for the position of Dean of Mathematics, a key leadership role in the Faculty of Mathematics. As the Dean, you will be responsible for leading the Faculty's academic and research programs, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation, and representing the Faculty's interests within the University and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Faculty's academic and research programs, ensuring their quality and relevance to the needs of the academic community and the broader society.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the Faculty, promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing among faculty members, students, and staff.
  • Represent the Faculty's interests within the University, engaging with senior administrators, faculty members, and students to advance the Faculty's goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Faculty's reputation, visibility, and impact, both locally and globally.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Faculty's departments, centers, and institutes, ensuring their effective operation and alignment with the Faculty's strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
