Job Title: Replacement Professor Position in Mathematics and Statistics

Job Summary: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a replacement professor position in probability and statistics. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in French and English, and will have the opportunity to participate in research groups and supervise graduate students.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach six courses per year in probability and statistics
  • Participate in research groups and supervise graduate students
  • Contribute to the development of the department's research and teaching programs

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
  • Proven track record in teaching at the undergraduate level in probability and statistics
  • Research experience in academia and/or industry
  • Ability to teach in French and English

  • A 2-year contract, renewable
  • Salary scales for Assistant Professors start at $89,622 (as of May 2023)
  • A complete compensation package, including long-term disability, basic group life insurance, supplementary health insurance, and a University of Ottawa Pension Plan
