Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a Mathematics Specialist Teacher to join our team. As a Mathematics Specialist Teacher, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of the Ontario Ministry of Education's policies and guidelines in mathematics education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of mathematics education programs and practices that align with the Ontario curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and evaluate mathematics education programs and practices.
  • Provide leadership in creating a learning environment that promotes student development and achievement.
  • Utilize various resources, including technology, communication, and hands-on materials, to deepen professional knowledge and support student learning.
  • Foster a community of professional learning and growth among colleagues.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Specialist qualification in mathematics education.
  • Recent experience in full-time teaching or administration in a school or school board.
  • Experience in implementing the Ontario curriculum in mathematics education.
  • Current qualification in mathematics education.
  • Ability to apply the Ontario College of Teachers' Professional Standards and the Ontario College of Teachers' Code of Ethics.

An acceptable level of education and/or experience may be viewed as equivalent to the required education and/or demonstrated experience.
