Sessional Instructor, Practical Nursing

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced teaching faculty to join our team at North Island College. As a Sessional Instructor, Practical Nursing, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our Practical Nursing Diploma program.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments
- Use a variety of approaches and materials to address different learning needs
- Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity
- Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment
- Be available to students regularly during scheduled office hours and classroom hours
- Clearly communicate learning outcomes and evaluation methods to students
- Design and conduct evaluations or appraisals of students
- Maintain records of student enrollment and achievement
- A current practicing license as an LPN, NP, RN, or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)
- One of the following credentials in adult education: Provincial Instructor diploma (PID), formal educational equivalent, or proof of completion of a formal Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
- Three to five years recent related practice experience
- Credential in Adult Education or equivalent
- Experience using creative and motivating approaches to stimulate learning
- Current registration with BCCNM and CPR level HCP
- Knowledge of BC Practical Nursing curriculum and scope of practice
- Experience with Indigenous health and/or global health
- Experience using online learning management systems
- Proficiency in computer applications and MS Office software
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program. The successful candidate will be required to work at the Comox Valley St. Joe's campus and may be required to travel for practicum placements.
