Position Overview

As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to residents in a retirement community. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years
  • Alternatively, equivalent experience in a healthcare setting
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver meal trays and assist residents with feeding
  • Manage and maintain inventory of medical supplies
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Respond to call signals to assess and address residents' needs
  • Provide first aid during emergency situations
Required Certifications
  • Completion of Moving Patients Safety Principles (MPSP) training
  • Current CPR Certification
Safety and Security
  • Must undergo a criminal record check
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced and dynamic setting

  • Engage in repetitive tasks
  • Physically demanding role requiring manual dexterity

  • Ability to distinguish colors and sound
  • Prolonged periods of standing, along with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Experience

Preferred experience of 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role.
