Position Overview

Quorum Software is seeking a highly skilled Senior Information Security Engineer to oversee and manage our enterprise security systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining the security technology framework that safeguards our organization and protects customer data from potential threats.

In this position, you will be responsible for various aspects of security operations, including red team (vulnerability assessment) and blue team (monitoring and response) activities. You will collaborate with external vendors and engage with internal stakeholders across departments such as Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering. Additionally, you will mentor junior security team members to foster their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and recommend strategies, assess solutions, and design and implement processes and controls to ensure security and privacy are integrated into Quorum's infrastructure and applications, while complying with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Act as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to evaluate cyber threats and enhance organizational security.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in the Information Security infrastructure and collaborate with internal teams to address and strengthen our systems and offerings.
  • Conduct Blue/Red team exercises to validate event logging, alert accuracy, incident response, and Security Operations Center (SOC) performance.
  • Validate vulnerability remediation strategies with relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in the Incident Response team during security incidents, making informed decisions regarding response strategies.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Possess hands-on experience with essential security operations technologies such as EDR, SASE, WAF, IAM, PAM, Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence, SIEM, and related services.
  • Review and advise on architectural designs, emphasizing security and privacy considerations.
  • Provide guidance to business units on project plans and architecture as the security and privacy SME.
  • Mentor junior team members to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Represent leadership in meetings as required.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud security tools, including Defender for Cloud, Conditional Access, AWS GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and Intune security policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • Experience in security operations center functions, incident response, threat intelligence, or security engineering.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security controls and their implementation for Azure and AWS.
  • Familiarity with real-world security incidents, including ransomware, threat modeling, and software development or scripting is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of attack methodologies, threat actors, and their tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of governance, risk, compliance, and audit requirements applicable to technology firms.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree is preferred.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., SANS) are a plus.
