Overview

Quorum Software is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to oversee and manage our enterprise security systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the implementation and maintenance of security technology infrastructures that are essential for safeguarding our operations and our clients' information.

In this position, you will be responsible for the security operations of both red teams (focused on vulnerability assessments) and blue teams (dedicated to monitoring, detection, and response). You will collaborate with third-party vendors as part of your responsibilities and engage with various internal stakeholders, including teams in Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the security team to facilitate their professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and propose strategies, assess solutions, design, and implement tools, processes, and controls to ensure that security and privacy are integrated into Quorum's infrastructure and applications while complying with policy, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to evaluate cyber threats and secure the organization.
  • Identify deficiencies in Information Security infrastructure and privacy capabilities, collaborating with internal teams to enhance our systems and products.
  • Conduct Blue/Red team exercises to validate event parsing, alert accuracy, incident authenticity, and SOC response.
  • Validate vulnerability mitigation strategies with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in the Incident Response team during incidents, making informed decisions regarding action plans.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics to a non-technical audience.
  • Possess hands-on experience with core security operations technologies such as EDR, SASE, WAF, IAM, PAM, Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence, SIEM, and services like MDR, MSSP, Forensics, Incident Response, and Attack Surface Management.
  • Provide advice and review architectural designs with a focus on security and privacy.
  • Consult with business units on project plans and architecture as the security and privacy subject matter expert.
  • Mentor junior team members to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Represent leadership in meetings as required.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on native cloud security tools such as Defender for Cloud, Conditional Access, AWS GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and Intune security policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • Experience in the operations of a security operations center, incident response team, threat intelligence unit, or security engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security and the implementation of security controls for Azure and AWS.
  • Familiarity with real-world incidents, including ransomware and other threats, threat modeling, architecture development, or hands-on software development or scripting is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of attacks, attackers, their tools and techniques, vulnerabilities, and threat modeling.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk, compliance, and audit requirements, particularly in a technology company context.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills

  • A relevant Bachelor's or Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as SANS are advantageous.
