Guest Services Representative Instructor

The Guest Services Representative Applied Certificate Instructor will be responsible for delivering SIIT programs with the purpose of promoting student success. This position is to organize and implement instructional activities which create a learning environment that guides and provides the greatest opportunity for student success.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Course Content: Deliver course content related to hotel operations and the guest services trade, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Coordinate Student Practicums: Coordinate and supervise student practicums, providing guidance and support to ensure students gain practical experience in a real-world setting.
- Course Materials and Evaluations: Complete all course-required materials, including attendance records and course evaluations, to assess student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Student Progress and Evaluation: Use appropriate methods of evaluating and recording student progress within set time frames, ensuring students meet the required standards.
- Work Environment: Ensure a positive, diverse, and inclusive work and learning environment, promoting a culture of respect and professionalism.
- Academic Regulations and Policies: Adhere to and promote academic regulations and SIIT policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
- Classroom Discipline: Maintain classroom discipline and, if necessary, recommend action to applicable supervisor regarding student behavior, including formal student disciplinary action.
- Course Development and Improvement: Make recommendations to modify course objectives, course outlines, curriculum, and evaluation procedures to ensure the program remains relevant and effective.

The following qualifications and experience are preferred:
- Related Experience: Three to six years of related experience in hotel and restaurant management, guest services, or tourism.
- Related Certification: Related certification in the guest services industry is an asset.
- Training and Facilitation: Experience in the facilitation of training in guest services occupations and workplace essentials is considered an asset.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills are required.
- Adult Learning Theories: Understanding of adult learning theories and principles is considered an asset.
