**Release Manager**

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Release Manager to join our team for a 12-month contract in Calgary, AB.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate integrated BMA releases, ensuring timely and successful deployment of software applications.
  • Plan and schedule integrated BMA changes in pre-production and production environments, minimizing disruptions and ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Apply, advocate, and maintain BMA Release Management best practices, governance, and processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Monitor and drive readiness of BMA teams for release deliverables, from planning to product, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Measure and identify opportunities and deficiencies in processes to support driving improvements of Release practices, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for continuous improvements for release deployment practices and processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Track release health during the release cycle with BMA Release and QA teams for each release, identifying and mitigating potential issues.
  • Communicate all release activities to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Assess and review all impacts, risks, dependencies, and critical path of releases in collaboration with BMA teams, ensuring informed decision-making.
Role Involvements
  • Plan, coordinate, manage, and track the release of deliverables of multiple projects in scheduled releases, ensuring timely and successful deployment.
  • Track, identify, communicate, and coordinate all release-related tasks between different teams of defect backlogs and planned release scope, ensuring alignment and efficiency.
  • Track, identify, and report on risks, impacts, dependencies, and critical path of release deliverables, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Track, conduct reviews, assessments, and manage release change control process, ensuring release schedule, quality, risks, and impacts are controlled.
  • Track and drive domain teams in providing on-time defect resolution within the SLA criteria set for releases, while supporting and ensuring quality management team in achieving planned test strategy for the release.
  • Elevate and report project and backlog that do not meet readiness criteria which impact release schedule and quality.
  • Create, maintain, and publish all release documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate and drive BMA teams during release technical meetings, host triage war rooms for issue management, in collaboration with BMA teams.
  • Host and communicate outcomes/outputs of release meetings and sessions (daily stand-ups, release technical meetings, triage war rooms for issue management, planning sessions, etc.), ensuring transparency and alignment.
Requirements
  • Project Management of IT projects and integrated applications.
  • Program or Technical portfolio management of integrated IT projects and applications.
  • Software Development Life Cycle and Software Test Life Cycle Delivery and support experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices and associated tools (ServiceNow, Jira or similar).
