Job Title: National Sales Director

Kyowa Kirin is a global pharmaceutical company that leverages cutting-edge biotechnologies to develop innovative medicines in four key areas: bone and mineral disorders, intractable hematologic diseases, hematology oncology, and rare diseases. Job Responsibilities
  • Sales Leadership
    • Foster a culture of leadership, attracting and retaining top talent, and promoting diversity, innovation, and teamwork to drive business success.
    • Lead the Canadian Sales Specialist Team, Rare Disease and Oncology specialists, and develop high-performing teams through recruiting, coaching, development, and performance management.
    • Ensure the Canadian Sales Team has an optimal organizational structure, process, training, and communication.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
    • Partner with commercial counterparts and other functional leaders to align sales objectives with brand and company goals.
    • Contribute to national sales forecasting in partnership with commercial team leaders.
    • Analyze national and regional trends, develop strategies, and implement plans to adapt to a changing marketplace.
    • Establish relationships with key thought leaders and professional associations.
    • Manage national sales budgets and allocate resources effectively.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive selling model, sales strategy, and national business plan to support short- and long-term revenue objectives.
    • Coordinate with Market Access to ensure compliant field efforts for public and private payers in Canada.
    • Effectively communicate strategic direction to the field and foster a culture of personal accountability.
    • Work closely with cross-functional groups, providing input representing the field and ensuring execution of sales program implementation.
    • Utilize business analytics to assess and diagnose trends and behaviors, developing plans to support strategic sales objectives.
    • In conjunction with Franchise Operations, develop incentive compensation plans that drive performance and effective behaviors.
    • Manage and adhere to all company policies, legal, compliance, and regulatory guidelines.
    • Build current and future competitive advantages by understanding customer needs and demonstrating a deep understanding of competitors' strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial regulations, the Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC) Code of Ethical Practices, and KKCA compliance policies.
    • Represent Kyowa Kirin in a professional, compliant, ethical, and effective manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of successful experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
Experience
  • Proven ability to lead a Canadian commercial organization and manage cross-functional teams, with demonstrated success in developing commercialization strategies and managing overall sales cost center budgets.
  • Experience in managing budgets, field expenses, and activity.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Non-Technical Skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a clear and organized manner with all levels of the Company.
  • Strong analytical and business acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as effective executive presence.
