We are seeking a skilled Program Lead, Volunteer Engagement to join our Customer Care team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading strategic volunteer engagement initiatives to elevate the volunteer experience and attract new volunteers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate United Way's Poverty Simulations and support the growth of United Way's Cabinets through event planning, communications, and volunteer recruitment.
- Deliver the Mentoring for Success program, recruit and coordinate volunteers for various volunteer-led United Way activities, and seek opportunities to highlight United Way's volunteer engagement activities.
- Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to oversee volunteer management and event coordination of volunteer-led community/public events.
- Actively pursue opportunities to showcase United Way's volunteer engagement offerings and coordinate efforts for participation in local community volunteer events and fairs.
- Support the Program Manager, Volunteer Engagement in exploring partnership opportunities to increase brand awareness, visibility, and community support.
- Lead the volunteer lifecycle for cabinet members, including onboarding, supporting, and offboarding.
- Organize and deliver all aspects of the Mentoring for Success program for Sponsored Campaign Representatives (SCRs), including recruiting mentors, sourcing consultants/facilitators, and program evaluation.
- Coordinate and lead volunteers for Poverty Simulation events.
- Facilitate Cabinet engagement through key functions, including communications, engagement events planning, and support.
- Support administrative functions for annual Cabinet recruitment strategies.
- Update cabinet role profiles and terms of reference annually.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the Cabinet Portal (SharePoint site).
- Provide support to Women United, GenNEXT, and ReUnited Cabinets by assisting associated staff partners with Cabinet operations.
We are looking for a skilled relationship builder who thrives in developing engaging relationships through trust, teamwork, and communication. You should enjoy keeping things organized and have experience managing multiple projects.
You should be comfortable problem-solving, gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information to inform decision-making. You should demonstrate accountability and strive for an excellent customer experience.
You should have a knowledge of MS Office and databases (we use Salesforce) and be comfortable in a digitally focused environment.
A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field, plus a minimum of two (2) years to three (3) years of related experience, is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
A valid driver's license and vehicle are required for some travel within Edmonton and the surrounding area. Availability to work on some occasional evenings or early mornings is required.

This position is eligible for a compressed work week (January – August), flexible hours / Hybrid work environment, professional coaching, LinkedIn Learning, extended health & dental, health spending account & wellness spending account, employee & family assistance program, people connect (virtual psychological support), RRSP matching, 12 days of personal illness and family responsibility leave, 4 weeks vacation, and a starting salary range of $48,880 - $61,100.
