The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our Gastroenterology Care Team at IWK Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the nutritional management of children seen by the team. Your expertise will be invaluable in providing evidence-based nutrition care plans and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for pediatric patients with gastrointestinal disorders
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate with other disciplines as needed
  • Participate in case conferences and team rounds to discuss patient progress and develop treatment plans
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare providers on normal and therapeutic nutrition
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in pediatric nutrition
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics
  • Successful completion of a Dietitians of Canada accredited dietetic internship program
  • Current license to practice with Nova Scotia Dietetic Association, or eligible to obtain a license
  • Previous experience in pediatric and ambulatory healthcare settings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
