About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at By The Lake Dental Inc. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation
    • Prepare patients for dental examinations by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and relaxed.
    • Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care, maintaining a clean and organized treatment area.
  • Supply Management
    • Order and maintain dental and office supplies, ensuring we have the necessary materials to provide excellent patient care.
  • Instrument Preparation
    • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials, adhering to strict sterilization and quality control procedures.
  • Clerical and Administrative Duties
    • Perform reception and clerical duties, including scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Instrument Maintenance
    • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Patient Education
    • Educate patients on oral hygiene, providing personalized guidance and recommendations.
  • Procedure Support
    • Assist dentists and hygienists with intra-oral duties, such as polishing teeth and applying fluoride and sealants.
  • Administrative Support
    • Record dental procedures performed on patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Invoice patients for dental services, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
Requirements
  • Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board
  • Previous experience in a dental setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
