Snowmaking Operations Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate snowmaking machinery and associated equipment.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily log of snowmaking activities.
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including fluid checks, cleaning, greasing, and fueling of machinery as necessary.
  • Set up and connect hoses for snowmaking, and efficiently manage the teardown process.
  • Control the activation and deactivation of snowmaking pumps.
  • Identify and report potential hazards to the appropriate management personnel and assist in emergency situations.
  • Monitor for any unusual occurrences, such as abnormal sounds or subpar production quality.
  • Support maintenance staff and undertake additional general duties as required.
  • Engage in snow removal and snow farming activities, including snowmaking and fencing.
  • Adjust and monitor snow guns as necessary.
  • Oversee performance management within the team.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical skills and a solid understanding of equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of mountain resort upkeep and ski/snowboarding terrain requirements.
  • Prior experience in snowmaking or terrain development is preferred.
