Snowmaker Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Snowmaker to join our team at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. As a Snowmaker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our snowmaking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate snowmaking equipment, performing pre- and post-operation checks to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Perform daily light maintenance tasks, including topping up fluids, cleaning, greasing, and fueling of equipment.
- Layout, connect, and charge hoses during setup, and discharge, disconnect, thaw, and drain hoses for teardown.
- Monitor and adjust snowmaking pumps and guns as required to maintain optimal snow quality.
- Recognize and report any potential hazards or equipment malfunctions to the Snowmaking Team Lead.
- Perform snow removal and snow farming tasks, including snowmaking and snow fencing.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment, promoting a culture of health and safety within the team.
- Work flexible shifts, including afternoons, graveyard shifts, holidays, and weekends, in extreme weather conditions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience with snowmaking or terrain building, with an excellent safety record.
- Mechanical aptitude, with a basic understanding of equipment operations and maintenance.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30lbs and perform manual labor, standing for prolonged periods, and working in all outdoor conditions.
- Comfortable working with high voltage and high-water pressure.
- Basic understanding of mountain resort maintenance and ski/snowboarding terrain needs.
- Team-oriented, with a desire to make a positive contribution to the entire resort.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a diverse range of people.
