The Role

The Instructional Support Specialist plays a vital role in fostering student success by supporting faculty in the classroom. This position involves collaborating with faculty to understand learning objectives and content requirements, providing consultation and support on instructional delivery methods and pedagogical approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty to develop technical resources for online, blended, and web-enhanced education.
  • Support academic staff development through curriculum design and delivery.
  • Coordinate and facilitate courses, workshops, consultation, and observation to enhance faculty skills.
  • Mitigate institutional risks by creating resources to engage faculty in copyright awareness.

Academic Integrity Support

The Instructional Support Specialist works closely with the Chairperson and Instructors to educate students on plagiarism, cheating, and other academic integrity topics. This involves building capacity for faculty to enhance learner support, promoting awareness and best practices, and developing educational resources and online modules.
