About the Role

Mercer is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our team in Toronto or Montreal. As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a national sales plan to achieve business growth targets
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at SMEs
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver sales strategies and tactics
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure client satisfaction and retention
Requirements
  • 0-5 years of experience in business development or sales
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets
  • Proper insurance industry license not required upon hire but will need to be obtained within 6 months
