Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for physical education that aligns with the school's strategic goals and fosters student growth in physical literacy, teamwork, and healthy habits.
  • Cultivate a positive and supportive department culture by providing mentorship, professional development opportunities, and collaborative platforms for faculty members.
  • Collaborate effectively with other department heads to ensure seamless curriculum integration and progression across all academic disciplines.
  • Monitor student performance in physical education, analyze data to identify areas of strength and growth, and implement strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Oversee the management of departmental resources, including budget allocation, facility utilization, and equipment maintenance.
  • Engage actively in school-wide initiatives and committees, contributing your expertise and leadership to the broader educational community.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate possesses a strong commitment to student success, a deep understanding of physical education pedagogy, and proven leadership skills. A Bachelor's Degree in a kinesiology-related field, BC Teacher Certification, and experience teaching Physical Education are essential qualifications. A Master's Degree in Education or Leadership and experience working with students with diverse learning needs are highly desirable.
