Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the PE department, including planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and services.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to ensure vertical and horizontal continuity and progression.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives that align with the school's strategic plan.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to PE teachers to support their professional growth and development.
  • Manage the department's budget and resources, ensuring effective use of funds and equipment.
  • Communicate with parents, students, and staff to promote the PE department and its programs.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees to support student success and well-being.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a kinesiology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) or Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC).
  • 2+ years of experience teaching physical education.
  • Master's degree in Education or Leadership (or willingness to pursue within 3 years).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for physical education and commitment to student success.
