About the Role

Gladys Pet Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our furry clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Medical Conditions: Conduct thorough physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
  • Prescribe Medication and Treatment: Develop and implement treatment plans to address medical conditions, including prescribing medication and performing surgery when necessary.
  • Provide Preventative Care: Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases, and advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
  • Supervise and Train Staff: Hire and train staff, including animal health technologists and animal care workers, to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Collaborate with Clients: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their concerns and provide personalized advice on animal care and health.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
  • Experience: Experience in a veterinary setting is an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
