We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Gladys Pet Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our furry patients and their owners.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Treat Medical Conditions: Conduct thorough physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
- Manage Veterinary Staff: Hire, train, and supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.
- Provide Preventative Care: Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases, and advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
- Perform Surgical and Emergency Procedures: Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery as needed.
- Conduct Routine and Post-Mortem Examinations: Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations to ensure the health and well-being of our patients.
- Provide Excellent Client Service: Communicate effectively with clients to provide advice and guidance on animal care and health.
- Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
- Experience: Experience in a veterinary setting is an asset.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
