Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, coordinate, and schedule the activities of personnel engaged in food preparation, portioning, and serving.
  • Assess and procure ingredients and supplies necessary for meal preparation.
  • Compile food order summaries for chefs based on requests from dieticians, patients, or other clients.
  • Develop strategies to adhere to work schedules.
  • Maintain records related to inventory, repairs, sales, and waste management.
  • Train staff on job responsibilities, sanitation, and safety protocols.
  • Supervise and verify the assembly of regular and specialized diet trays, as well as the delivery of food trolleys.
  • Ensure food quality and service standards are met.
  • May assist in the recruitment of food service staff and contribute to the formulation of policies, procedures, and budgets.
  • May be involved in planning cafeteria menus and calculating associated food and labor costs.
