About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scrum Master to join our team at Scotiabank. As a Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in driving team effectiveness and ensuring the successful implementation of agile principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Facilitation: Facilitate agile ceremonies, including iteration planning, iteration review, retrospectives, and daily standups, to ensure effective team collaboration and communication.
  • Impediment Removal: Identify and remove impediments that hinder team productivity and progress, ensuring timely resolution of issues and risks.
  • Agile Coaching: Coach the development team on agile principles and practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and shared practices.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement processes to improve team productivity and quality of deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including product owners, business sponsors, and other teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on team performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, business, information sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years of performing hands-on Scrum Master role and 7+ years of people management experience.
  • Skills: Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, project management experience with agile principles and practices, and ScrumMaster Certification (CSM).
