About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Bella Coola General Hospital. As a Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments within a designated laboratory area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including quality control and quality assurance activities.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Participate in departmental training programs and stay up-to-date with new technologies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results.

Qualifications
