About the Role: The LPN will work under the general supervision of the Program Team Manager and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, engaging in ongoing education, and maintaining competency with professional standards of practice. The ideal candidate will have recent acute nursing experience and a strong commitment to the vision, values, and goals of the facility/program/unit.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
- Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge.
- Engage in ongoing education and maintain competency with professional standards of practice.
- Work to full scope of practice and demonstrate a commitment to the vision, values, and goals of the facility/program/unit.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Current College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) registration.
- Recent acute nursing experience.
- Knowledge of regional/facility/unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
- Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
- Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
- Ability to recognize and assume responsibility for own professional growth, development, competency, and pursue self-development opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
- Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
