Job Summary:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, you will play a vital role in providing professional practical nursing services to designated patients. You will work under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, and be responsible for providing independent nursing services, administering prescribed medical treatments, collaborating and interacting with the healthcare team, and participating in the coordination of patient care and discharge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in the coordination of patient care and discharge, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Work under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent, related experience in the applicable clinical area.
  • Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of the Scope of practice as documented in the Licensed Practical Nurses Act.
Physical Requirements:
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
  • Rotating shifts and weekends may be required.
  • Requires shift work and extended working hours.
  • Position involves physical activities such as standing, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
