Position Overview:

We are currently looking for an Activities Attendant (Memory Care). This position involves assisting in the development and coordination of enjoyable and meaningful events, activities, and services that promote an active lifestyle among our residents, while also supporting their essential daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prepare, and facilitate engaging programs for residents.
  • Assist residents with transportation to and from activities as needed.
  • Encourage residents to participate and remain active.
  • Effectively promote activities and an active lifestyle within the community.
  • Support the Fun Manager in planning and executing special events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents and their families to understand individual needs and enhance satisfaction.
  • Track and document resident participation in activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a supportive team environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory.
  • Experience in healthcare or hospitality settings, with knowledge of activation programs and mobility challenges.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and oversee diverse social services and events.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly and disabled individuals, including those living with dementia.
  • Valid Class G/Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (specific to Ontario/Alberta).
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Current Safe Food Handler's certification.
  • Relevant experience in recreation or equivalent certification.
