The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) plays a pivotal role within the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team, focusing on the enhancement of patient care through effective education and knowledge translation. Reporting to the Manager of Interprofessional Practice and Learning, the CNE collaborates with various stakeholders to assess, implement, and evaluate clinical knowledge, ensuring that it is effectively integrated into practice.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify educational needs within the nursing team.
- Design and implement educational programs that promote evidence-based practices.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development and support the onboarding of new staff.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives and their impact on patient outcomes.
- Provide expert consultation and guidance to nursing staff to enhance clinical competencies.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- A Master's degree in Nursing, Health, or Education is preferred.
- An active nursing license in good standing.
- A minimum of three years of full-time clinical nursing experience, particularly in Endoscopy/Urology.
- Experience in an ambulatory care setting is an asset.
- Relevant certifications and ongoing professional development in nursing education.
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a commitment to professional excellence and a passion for teaching. The CNE will be expected to travel periodically to various facilities within the designated zone, necessitating reliable transportation.
