Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Group Home Worker to join our team at Kenora-Rainy River Districts Child and Family Services. As a Group Home Worker, you will be responsible for providing daily care and direct supervision to children placed in a staffed resource unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care and direct supervision to children in a staffed resource unit.
  • Create a physically safe and emotionally nurturing environment that promotes positive behavior and development.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as child development, behavior management, and indigenous culture.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • Child Care Worker or Child & Youth Worker Diploma or higher.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a group home setting or related child care experience.
  • Current certification in 1st Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
  • Must be medically fit to work in a group home setting with proof of immunizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle with OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $ Liability.
  • Clear criminal reference check, Clear Vulnerable Sector check, Clear Internal Records Check and a Clear Driver's Abstract.
