Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager

Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Quality Technical Manager, you will oversee the establishment, upkeep, and enhancement of the organization's Quality & Food Safety System, ensuring adherence to the standards set forth by the certified Quality & Food Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation and Standards: Ensure that all operational activities and standards within the Quality Department are thoroughly documented, communicated, and accessible in the form of specifications, work instructions, and records to facilitate effective staff performance.
  • System Improvement: Lead the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Quality & Food Safety Management System to align with the company's quality policy and objectives.
  • Document Control: Manage the administration of approved system policies, procedures, work instructions, specifications, and records.
  • Non-Conformity Investigation: Assist in investigating non-conformities, including customer complaints, by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with the production team.
  • Data Management: Ensure that non-conformances and customer complaints are logged in the database, maintaining trend graphs for quality performance measurement as outlined in quality objectives.
  • Product Release: Guarantee timely product release and availability of documentation, such as Certificates of Analysis, upon request.
  • Management Representative Duties: Oversee scheduling and completion of internal audits and monthly Quality & Food Safety meetings, ensuring audits are conducted within the designated timeframe.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and address issues that may arise during the production process.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide support and insights to the Quality & Technical Manager and Corporate QA regarding legal and statutory requirements to ensure compliance of products in both domestic and international markets.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed about food-related news and incidents that may impact product safety, including adulteration and legislative changes.
  • Certification Management: Coordinate with certification bodies such as BRC, GFCO, and COSTCO to ensure ongoing certifications.
  • Team Supervision: Directly supervise the Food Safety Administrator and Quality Laboratory Supervisor along with their teams.
  • Staff Training: Conduct training for Quality staff to enhance their understanding and execution of their responsibilities.
  • Support for Strategic Activities: Assist the Technical & Quality Manager with priority activities that align with business strategies and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a Diploma in Food Technology.
  • Certification in PRP, HACCP, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, or Auditing principles.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in quality management within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Strong administrative, planning, coordinating, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
