Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager

Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Quality Technical Manager, you will oversee the establishment, upkeep, and enhancement of the organization's Quality & Food Safety System, ensuring adherence to the certified standards of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all operational activities and standards within the Quality Department are thoroughly documented, communicated, and accessible through specifications, work instructions, and records to facilitate effective staff performance.
  • Lead the execution, maintenance, and enhancement of the Quality & Food Safety Management System to align with the company's quality policy and objectives.
  • Manage the document-controlled administration of approved system policies, procedures, work instructions, specifications, and records.
  • Assist in investigating non-conformities, including customer complaints, by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with the production team.
  • Ensure that non-conformances and customer complaints are logged in the database, and maintain trend graphs for quality performance measurement as per quality objectives.
  • Guarantee timely product release and availability of documentation, such as Certificates of Analysis, upon request.
  • Fulfill the duties of the Management Representative, including scheduling and concluding internal audits and leading monthly Quality & Food Safety meetings, ensuring audits are completed within the designated timeframe.
  • Identify and address issues that may arise during the production process.
  • Provide support and insights to the Quality & Technical Manager and Corporate Quality Assurance regarding legal and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance of products in both domestic and international markets.
  • Stay informed about food-related news and incidents, including food safety, adulteration, and legislative changes that may impact product compliance.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and communication with certification bodies such as BRC, GFCO, and COSTCO to maintain continuous certifications.
  • Supervise the Food Safety Administrator and Quality Laboratory Supervisor along with their teams.
  • Conduct training for Quality staff to enhance their understanding and execution of their responsibilities.
  • Support the Technical & Quality Manager by assisting with priority initiatives within the department that align with business strategies and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a Diploma in Food Technology.
  • Certification in PRP, HACCP, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, or Auditing principles.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in quality management within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Strong administrative, planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
