Position Overview

We are seeking a Controller to join our team in Burnaby, BC, Canada. At Quadrogen, we are dedicated to cultivating a top-tier workforce and provide a unique environment where collaboration with leading industry partners and institutions is encouraged. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations for the group of companies.
  • Prepare Quarterly Interim and Annual Financial Statements (Review Engagement).
  • Generate cash flow statements and forecasts.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external accountants in both Canada and the US.
  • Engage directly with financial institutions including banks and lenders.
  • Reconcile intercompany and related party accounts across group entities.
  • Issue sales invoices based on milestones outlined in sales agreements and follow up with clients for timely payments.
  • Manage accounts payable, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and excise tax (GST and PST) submissions.
  • Facilitate bank transfer payments.
  • Collaborate with external accountants for Corporate Annual Tax Filings and other tax obligations in Canada and the US (Federal and Provincial/State).
  • Supervise local Texas accountants for bookkeeping and payroll duties.
  • Handle the renewal and application processes for corporate insurance for the group companies in Canada and the US.
  • Work with insurance brokers to manage employee insurance for the Texas subsidiary.
  • Oversee administrative operations of the Texas subsidiary.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the development team to review the status of ongoing projects.
  • Report directly to the CEO.
  • Coordinate with the accounting team in the India subsidiary regarding audit requirements, intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, etc.
  • Verify banking information for new vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Currently pursuing or holding a CPA designation.

Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with Sage accounting software is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
