Job Title: Controller

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the preparation and review of our quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and management's discussion and analysis (MD&A) in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and MD&A in compliance with IFRS.
  • Drive the completion of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end procedures.
  • Supervise the finance team, including treasury, accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivables.
  • Responsible for overseeing the year-end audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain corporate accounting policies.
  • Prepare monthly management reports to provide visibility into company performance.
  • Identify potential risks in financials (IS, BS, and cash flow) and operational performance and provide insight and/or define actions to help address them.
  • Develop and maintain the integrity of the financial reporting process and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Assess and document the impact and required disclosures for major transactions and complex accounting issues.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors to maintain an understanding of the tax exposure and risk areas impacting our business.
  • Ensure tax reporting and other statutory compliance by working with tax advisors in the preparation and completion of tax returns.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of full-cycle accounting and consolidation of a foreign subsidiary.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to support efficient and effective operations.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Experience in managing a finance team and overseeing financial reporting processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify potential risks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
