About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team at G. Abato and Sons Italian Market. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating a wide range of sweet and savory pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new pastry recipes and menus to meet customer demands and preferences.
  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and other sweet and savory goods for sale in our market.
  • Ensure that all baked goods meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Work Environment

Our market is a busy and dynamic environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and quality products. As a Pastry Chef, you will be working in a hot kitchen environment, exposed to odors and other allergens.
