Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Product Line Development Manager. This role will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and development of value-added focus products and proprietary product lines. The successful candidate will work closely with our Procurement teams, Market Development, Agronomy, and Ag Innovation to bring a strong level of agronomic positioning, technical support, and confidence to drive demand creation within our Canadian operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for Simplot Grower Solutions to develop its own proprietary product line to differentiate our Canadian operations in creating unique solutions for our customers.
- Conduct research to understand regulatory needs, market and industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Work with all SGS locations to inform, forecast, and increase sales of focus products, proprietary, and biological. Provide education and technical support.
- Learn and acquire expertise on biological products to select, support, and help market and sell.
- Attend grower events and work with the Marketing team and Market Development Lead to provide timely product campaigns.
- Generate sales for CPP & Seed focus products through internal (AgProve) and external resources.
- Work with Procurement Leads to ensure accurate positioning of focus/proprietary products throughout the SGS Canada Business Unit.
- Work with CPP & Seed Manager and Market Development Lead to evaluate new and existing products and determine strategic sourcing options for SGS Canada.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Agriculture is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in CPP & Seed industry or Ag Retail.
- Up to 25% overnight travel. Additional daytime travel within trade area.
