Job Title: Full Time Intervenor to Support Deafblind Individuals

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Full Time Intervenor to join our team at Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada. As an Intervenor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are deafblind in their daily lives, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting individuals who are deafblind in their homes and communities, using effective communication techniques to facilitate their daily living needs.
  • Empowering individuals to participate and succeed in all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and volunteerism.
  • Providing personal care as required, such as lifts and transfers, toileting, and medication administration.
  • Assisting with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
  • Ensuring documentation and records are complete and up-to-date.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
  • A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
