Job Summary

The Grants Officer at Good Shepherd Centres plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for those in need. This individual will be responsible for planning and executing fundraising activities, identifying potential grants and sponsorships, and cultivating relationships to secure additional resources for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor Engagement: Respond to donor inquiries with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders.
  • Research and Identification: Conduct thorough research to identify potential corporate and foundation funders, leveraging industry connections and relationships.
  • Proposal Development: Write compelling proposals and applications for funding opportunities, highlighting the organization's mission and impact.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Ensure reporting requirements are met for all partnerships, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Donor Recognition: Develop and implement donor recognition programs, showcasing the impact of their contributions.
  • Community Representation: Attend fundraising events and represent Good Shepherd Centres in the community, fostering relationships and promoting the organization's mission.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with team members to manage donor information and fundraising activities, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Funding Recommendations: Present funding recommendations to the Board of Directors, providing data-driven insights and strategic guidance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years fundraising experience, with a proven track record of success in major gift solicitation.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent relationship management abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
