Position OverviewThe Accounts Payable Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the prompt and precise processing of Accounts Payable records. Maintaining positive relationships with our vendors is vital to supporting the company's mission of enhancing workplace comfort.
In this position, you will interact with both internal teams and external vendors. The ability to manage multiple tasks, quickly adapt to new responsibilities, and collaborate across departments is essential. Given the time-sensitive nature of accounting tasks, strong time management skills and the capacity to assess urgency are critical. You will prioritize tasks effectively and approach them systematically. When challenges arise, you will exercise sound judgment and analytical thinking, seeking guidance from the Supervisor when necessary.
The ideal candidate is a junior accounting professional with a sharp attention to detail and a proven ability to meet daily objectives. You will approach your responsibilities with professionalism and diligence, understanding that your timely processing is essential for the smooth operation of Accounts Payable functions.
Qualifications- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting (Certificate or Degree/Diploma).
- Intermediate proficiency in accounting software, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and internet applications; experience with SyteLine or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
This role is primarily office-based, typically in a quiet setting. Most tasks will be performed using a computer and standard office equipment, with communication conducted via phone, email, or in-person interactions. Some responsibilities may require you to be present in the manufacturing facility, where exposure to dust and noise may occur.
- Ability to maintain focus during extended periods of reading and typing.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks amidst frequent interruptions.
- Must uphold a sense of urgency while meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to respond and adapt swiftly in a dynamic work environment.
- Professional demeanor when addressing issues under pressure.
