Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Code Engineer to join our team at CEP Forensic Inc. as a key member of our Building and Fire Code services team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of associates to manage full cycle projects, providing high-quality services to clients from private and public sectors.
  • Manage project staffing, budget, profitability, and delivery.
  • Represent CEP Forensic Inc. in all interactions with clients and serve as the primary contact for client consultation on assigned projects.
  • Visit sites and attend meetings with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Review drawings and provide alternative solutions.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and proposals.
  • Manage client expectations in terms of quality and schedule.
  • Conduct peer review of projects being executed for various clients.
  • Deploy staff and other necessary resources to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Mentor and coach early career employees in the team.
  • Identify and actively pursue business opportunities and contribute to marketing efforts as required.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Building Code Engineering/Consulting for medium to large size residential, commercial, institutional, and public projects.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Ontario Building Code (Part 3), National Building Code (NBC), and Fire Codes (NFC & NFPA).
  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Self-driven with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Versatile and able to manage varying workloads and competing priorities.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with project team members and clients.
  • Able to obtain government security clearance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
