Position Overview

Established in 1986, CEP Forensic Inc. is a prominent Canadian engineering firm focused on fire protection engineering, building compliance consulting, fire safety, and emergency planning services. Our firm is recognized for its expertise in managing complex projects across various sectors.

We are seeking experienced Building Code Engineers who are adept at handling intricate assignments and can effectively lead a team of professionals. If you possess a serious approach to your work combined with a vibrant personality, we invite you to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in diverse projects related to Building and Fire Code services, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Oversee project staffing, financial management, and overall project delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison for client interactions, providing expert consultation on assigned projects.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in meetings with clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Review architectural drawings and propose alternative solutions as necessary.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and proposals effectively.
  • Ensure client satisfaction regarding quality and timelines.
  • Conduct peer reviews of ongoing projects for various clients.
  • Allocate staff and resources to guarantee timely project completion.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while contributing to marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Building Code Engineering/Consulting for medium to large-scale residential, commercial, institutional, and public projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ontario Building Code (Part 3), National Building Code (NBC), and Fire Codes (NFC & NFPA).
  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Adaptable and capable of managing diverse workloads and competing priorities.
  • Proficient in building positive relationships with project teams and clients.
  • Ability to obtain necessary government security clearance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
