Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join its Wastewater Linear Collection team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, monitoring, and optimizing processes required for wastewater linear system operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance wastewater collection system efficiency
  • Monitor and optimize process performance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement process control strategies
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and present reports on process performance and improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Completion of a 4-year university degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a process-related environment, preferably in a wastewater system environment
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • Ontario MOE Class 4 Operator Certificate in the applicable process area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of biological, physical, chemical, and other processes used in wastewater treatment or collections operations and maintenance
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs, statistical process control techniques, and computerized process control
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
