Primary Duties:

  • Prepare scientific documentation and presentations
  • Conduct research to maintain traditional land usage and evaluate methods to alleviate climate change effects
  • Assist in initiatives aimed at climate change adaptation and sustainable resource management
  • Formulate stakeholder engagement and communication strategies
  • Perform environmental evaluations and analyses, and compile reports
  • Collaborate with various entities regarding land and resource management activities
  • Execute special projects to tackle community issues
  • Coordinate with agencies, industries, and governmental bodies on resource development matters

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related discipline
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Familiarity with Stó:lō culture and history is beneficial
  • Prior experience with First Nations communities is preferred
  • Valid BC Driver's License and a clear Criminal Record Check
