Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Natural Resources Coordinator to join our team at Seabird Island Band. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and responding to referrals related to natural resources and environmental impacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze data to inform decision-making on natural resource management and environmental sustainability.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement and communication plans to ensure effective collaboration with community members, stakeholders, and government agencies.
  • Conduct social, economic, and environmental analyses and assessments to identify opportunities for climate change mitigation and sustainable land use.
  • Liaise with various groups, including government agencies, industries, and community organizations, to promote sustainable natural resource management practices.
  • Develop and implement mitigation plans to minimize the environmental impacts of natural resource development projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies or a related field.
  • Experience in natural resource management, environmental sustainability, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and community engagement.
