Role Overview

As a Clinical Nurse Leader, you will play a vital role in a cohesive, interdisciplinary team focused on providing comprehensive services and programs to our clients. You will offer after-hours clinical and operational leadership support to the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee resource management for practice, ensuring patient safety and effective client care delivery.
  • Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to nursing staff, serving as a clinical resource for after-hours frontline personnel.
  • Supervise and evaluate the overall delivery of patient care and unit activities, including the nursing model of care.
  • Act as a liaison for community and family members during clinical emergencies and infection control situations.
  • Monitor critical incidents and address patient and family concerns effectively.
  • Direct workflow and oversee the productivity and engagement of the nursing team, including staff development and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with Standards of Practice and ethical guidelines while evaluating nursing care and staff competency.
  • Implement and uphold new policies and procedures related to patient care and team operations.
  • Develop nursing standards and protocols in collaboration with the unit's Director.
  • Coordinate clinical placements for nursing students and support their educational needs.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the nursing unit.
  • Assist in budget preparation and management related to nursing operations.
  • Provide ongoing support and education to ensure care delivery aligns with best practices.
  • Maintain effective communication with unit managers and senior leadership regarding urgent matters.
  • Make informed decisions regarding resource utilization across the facility.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Certificate in Mental Health Nursing and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • A Health Management Diploma or equivalent progressive management education.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in various systems and software applications.
  • Knowledge of health and safety principles in the workplace.
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and suicide prevention training.
