Your Opportunity:
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Respiratory Outpatient Department is a vital nursing role within Alberta Health Services (AHS). This position is designed to ensure that patients and their families have timely access to essential information, support, and services related to respiratory care. The RN is responsible for providing critical pre and post-procedure information, working collaboratively with respiratory teams to manage the intake and coordination of care throughout the bronchoscopy process.
Key Responsibilities:
In your capacity as a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver a comprehensive range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, while prioritizing their safety and well-being. Your responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing nursing processes effectively through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Teaching, counseling, and advocating for patients and their families.
- Leading initiatives that support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
- Providing safe, quality, and patient-centered care that aligns with the mission and values of AHS.
Important Information:
Please note that provisional permit holders will receive a specific pay rate, which will be adjusted upon registration as a Registered Nurse in accordance with applicable agreements. This posting may be utilized to fill multiple identical vacancies that arise from the administration of the Trial of Modified Posting Provisions.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed an accredited nursing education program and be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). A current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is also required. For those who have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of specific courses is mandatory.
