Unit 22 is a specialized acute inpatient Cardiology/Telemetry Unit designed for professionals who can effectively manage a diverse population of complex and unstable patients. The ideal Registered Nurse for this environment possesses a keen interest in delivering cardiac-focused nursing care and excels in collaborative multi-disciplinary settings to ensure family-centered care.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility will be to deliver a comprehensive range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, while prioritizing their safety and well-being. You will engage in nursing processes that involve critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, while also providing education, counseling, and advocacy for patients and their families. Your leadership will be pivotal in promoting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, emphasizing health promotion and maintenance. You will ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient and family-centered care that aligns with the core values and vision of Alberta Health Services.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of specific courses is mandatory.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Proven ability to perform and document comprehensive physical assessments.
- Demonstrated capability to administer medications in an acute care environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills related to clinical judgment and problem-solving.
- Recent experience in an acute care setting with full scope of practice is essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and accept guidance as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required.
- This position is suitable for candidates with certification in a relevant specialty area, including Charge Nurse experience and leadership training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- All Acute Care, Continuing Care, Mental Health, and Public Health LPNs, RNs, and RPNs are encouraged to detail their experience and competencies.
