Unit 22 specializes in acute inpatient care for patients with complex cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have a profound interest in cardiac nursing and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, family-centered care.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility will be to deliver a broad spectrum of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. You will employ nursing processes that involve critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, while also providing education, counseling, and advocacy for patients and their families. Your leadership will be vital in promoting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. You will ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with the core values and vision of Alberta Health Services.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the required courses is necessary.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to conduct and document thorough physical assessments and administer medications in an acute care environment. Strong critical thinking skills related to clinical judgment and problem-solving are essential. Recent experience in an acute care setting at full scope of practice is mandatory. The ability to function as part of a team and to accept guidance when necessary is crucial. Effective interpersonal communication skills are required. This position is well-suited for candidates with certification in a relevant specialty area, as well as those with charge nurse experience and leadership training.
