Position Overview

This role is integral to our Finance team, reporting directly to the Group Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting. The successful candidate will be tasked with assisting in the preparation of all regulatory and statistical submissions, conducting capital and scenario modeling, and other financial reporting responsibilities for the Butterfield Group.

The Finance team is crucial in supporting Butterfield's operations by delivering high-quality planning, reporting, regulatory, and accounting services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly capital and liquidity regulatory submissions in line with Basel III reporting standards.
  • Compile regulatory data to support Pillar 2 & 3 reporting.
  • Conduct quality assurance analysis on data sourced from various jurisdictions and departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
  • Maintain, document, and enhance existing procedures, systems, and controls.
  • Assist in the preparation of board-level presentations, along with ad hoc queries and analyses.
  • Continuously evaluate reporting processes and content for optimization and enhancement.
  • Undertake additional finance-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, or equivalent) along with a minimum of five years of progressive post-qualification experience in the financial services sector, specifically in a financial or regulatory reporting capacity.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present complex data effectively within a demanding environment and strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software, data query tools, and financial modeling applications (experience with SAP is advantageous).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
